It’s been my 1st week after arrival to Amsterdam and I would like to start my exploration shortly as I need to settle normally first at my husband’s sister mansion. It is not large indeed, but still takes a lot of time to get acquainted with and to “inhabit” my room, unpack my suitcases and arrange things in the room in order to feel myself “at home”, which is quite difficult to do thousands miles away from my real home. Amsterdam is pretty large and I am not so brave to just get on the track. I’m trying not to lose my head… completely new place and environment, people and customs, rules and the language, after all… I’m excited and a little bit frightened. It seems it’s going to be a real challenge for me.

I am eager to start exploring Amsterdam, you know what is the first thing I am planning to do after solving some problems with my documents, SHOPPING, I will shop till I drop! I hope posting will help me to arrange my thoughts and experiences about Amsterdam and that will be a great opportunity to keep my family and faraway friends informed what’s going on. Special thanks to Alex (our nephew, I’m going to look after him for a while) for the idea :)) He is just mad about computers and everything related to the Internet, no wonder that he was the first to suggest the idea of posting.
