Hello, friends!

The next Amsterdam hotel I am going to describe today is not the cheapest one, however, if you compare prices of luxurious Amsterdam accommodations you will probably come to the opinion that Hotel Artemis Amsterdam is cheaper than other 4-star hotels in Amsterdam. This de-luxe Amsterdam hotel is located in the western part of the capital between the city centre and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. One can easily reach Hotel Artemis Amsterdam by either car or public transport. As for parking, it is possible on site and costs EUR 15.60 per day. By the way, believe my own experience of parking in Amsterdam: try to avoid taking your car into the city centre – Amsterdam’s street are very narrow and driving here is not as enjoyable as one could think. It is much better to park your car far from the city centre on the free parking and use frequently running public transport to proceed. Parking rates are very high in the center of Amsterdam and it’s no use trying to find free parking here – free parking in the city center does not exist, so don’t look for it. Some Amsterdam hotels may provide free parking spaces for their guests, otherwise visitors should look for a garage or street parking.

My plane landed at Schiphol Airport and I caught bus number 95 to Johan Huizingalaan bus stop. Hotel Artemis Amsterdam is within walking distance from the bus stop. The exact address of the Hotel Artemis Amsterdam is John M.Keynesplein, 2.

I go on with this hotel review later. Goodbye for now!

Hello!

I am here to finish my review of The Toren hotel, 4-star luxury hotel in Amsterdam centre.
The Toren hotel offers rooms for any taste so that the hotel guests could make their choice according to their preferences. Hotel apartments are all different and vary from small and cosy ones to spacious and luxuriously beautiful. Those who are going to celebrate special occasions can book Special Deluxe rooms, Bridal Suites or the Garden Cottage.
As the purpose of my husband’s visit to Amsterdam Toren Hotel was attending a conference, he decided to settle in a standard double room for single use with bath. His room was nicely decorated and felt cozy. Jack thought that there was too much furniture in the room for a single guest – a bed, a desk, a table, 2 chairs and 2 nightstands. Maybe that’s why his room seemed small. The bathroom was big compared to the room; all the basic bathroom amenities were available. My husband’s favorite features in any hotel room are a flat screen TV and fast Internet connection – and he got them there. There was an espresso maker in Jack’s room with complimentary coffee and tea.

Continental breakfast was not included. The choice of food offered for breakfasts was great: cereals, juices, coffee, tea, fresh fruits, eggs, sausages and bacon. The food was fresh and tasty. You will also be able to enjoy the “local” feel to the area if you follow The Toren hotel’s recommendation list and visit Dutch restaurants nearby the hotel.

Even though the hotel staff were surprisingly young, they were professional and very friendly.

All in all, The Toren hotel has everything you would expect from a 4-star hotel in Amsterdam. Of course, it is not cheap or budget, but it is reasonably priced compared to other 4-star Amsterdam hotels.

That’s all about this hotel. Bye!

Hello, friends!

I continue describing luxurious Amsterdam hotels where you would possibly like to spend a special weekend, honeymoon, wedding anniversary or any other special occasion. The information about the following 4-star accommodation in Amsterdam is learnt partly from Marbee and partly from Jack.

The Toren hotel Amsterdam has been definitely designed with guests’ pleasure in mind – the hotel, which is decorated in a 17th century style, looks and feels very romantic. Big candelabras and open fireplaces create a special unique atmosphere of peace and tranquility which allows guests to feel totally at home and completely relaxed. And if you add here The Toren hotel’s central and picturesque location along one of the Amsterdam’s canals, you will easily understand why guests return to this lovely Amsterdam hotel over and over again. Not only leisure tourists, but also business travelers are welcomed to The Toren Hotel Amsterdam. Luxurious Amsterdam Hotel – The Toren hotel has meeting rooms which has a sitting capacity of about 20 people. Jack has been there and he says that their meeting room was well equipped with audio/visual equipment, video conferencing, copy and fax machines and all that stuff needed for holding a conference.

Most people coming to Amsterdam book The Toren hotel because of its location. The hotel is situated right in the city center close enough to walk to most of Amsterdam’s attractions – Anne Franks House is just round the corner. Even though The Toren hotel is in the center of the city, the outside noise doesn’t disturb much. Nevertheless, light sleepers are recommended to choose rooms at the back of the hotel.

I will continue later…

I go on with Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw review started in the previous post.

My hotel room wasn’t too spacious, but ideal for one person. Surprisingly, the bathroom was bigger than I could expect – it was really huge compared to the size of the room. I had a balcony that overlooked the street and I could even see quite a bit of Dam Square. My apartment was very clean and serviced daily. The room was equipped with a single bed which was very comfortable, LCD TV screen, electronic safe box, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, and a well stocked minibar. De Roode Leeuw Amsterdam Hotel provided all facilities I needed to make my stay a pleasant one. The only complaint I have about room facilities is that the hairdryer was too old.

The continental breakfast was more than adequate, but it was not included in the room price. The main restaurant area, which occupies the majority of the front of the ground floor, serves a good selection of traditional local meals. The bad point about this restaurant is that it was too smoky. I don’t smoke, maybe that’s why the smell was unbearable. I would also recommend trying the dining room on the 3rd floor of the department store which is situated across the street from Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw for lunch. They serve very delicious food and the service is great.

All in all, I had a pleasant stay in De Roode Leeuw Hotel Amsterdam and can recommend this Amsterdam hotel for its convenient location and affordable price.

That’s all about this inexpensive Amsterdam accommodation; I just hope you will find it helpful. Bye for now!

Today I would like to share my experience of staying in Hotel De Roode Leeuw Amsterdam, 4-star hotel. This Amsterdam hotel is a luxurious one and is an ideal place for those travelers who used to a certain level of comfort. Though Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw is not very cheap, it is cheaper than other city center hotels of the same star rating.

The location of Hotel De Roode Leeuw couldn’t be better: in the very heart of the city, right off the Dam Square (main square) and a ten minutes walk to the Central railway station. I suppose that this hotel is a great starting point for shopping, sightseeing (it is located in the historical part of the city), visiting world famous museums. People traveling for some business purposes would find this place convenient for business meetings and conferences. Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw provides the following meeting facilities: copying machine, printer, scanner, fax machine, Internet access and a number of conference rooms. I was attending a conference there and it was properly organized.

There are lots of restaurants around Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw and the department store nearby, it is worth a look if you want some retail therapy (I went there in the evenings after meetings and had a great time there).

Excursions for the conference members were offered by the conference organizers. Madame Tussauds was almost on the doorstep of the hotel – that was quite amazing. The exposition of wax statues displays the local culture, from old times till today, including the Dutch Royal Family, pop stars, movie stars and so on. It was a relaxing way to spend my leisure time on a rainy day.

To be continued later on…
