I am going to publish one more letter from a traveler to Amsterdam.
“We booked rooms in France Hotel Amsterdam long before our visit to the Netherlands. We chose this budget Amsterdam hotel because it appeared to meet all our needs for a short getaway of 3 nights. France Hotel was comparatively cheap and within our budget.
It wasn’t easy finding France Hotel Amsterdam and it took a while, even though the hotel was not far from the Central Station where we arrived. But, maybe, that’s because that was our first trip to Amsterdam and we didn’t know the city. France Hotel Amsterdam is located on a quiet canal street (as we soon found out “Oudezijds Kolk” was one of the oldest canals in the ancient heart of the city).
Checking in was very quick and the staff at the reception desk were extremely helpful to provide us with some information about the city sights. There was an elevator in the hotel. We had a room with double bed, which contained a shower, toilet, hair dryer, television, pay TV and telephone. Our room was very clean and nicely furnished. We couldn’t expect more in a 3-star budget Amsterdam hotel.
Breakfast was included in the room price and it was served in the Irish Bar. The range of food offered for breakfast included sliced meats, eggs, cheeses, sausages, cereals, yoghurt, toast, fresh fruit, fruit juices, teas, coffees.
All in all, France Hotel Amsterdam is a very good place for a short stay in Amsterdam if you travel on a budget – you will definitely get what you pay for. I think, we will stay in France Hotel Amsterdam next time we arrive here.”
Let me cite a letter that I have recently received from a traveler who actually lives in Atlanta. His name is Mark. He was so kind to share his experience of staying in Swissotel Amsterdam, a 4-star hotel in Amsterdam.
“I have heard about Swissotel Amsterdam from a friend of mine who often travels to Europe. He mentioned that this Amsterdam hotel is ideally located in the center of Amsterdam, close to shopping centers, Amsterdam’s attractions and various restaurants, bars and cafes. It is on the main Dam square. Swissotel Amsterdam Hotel is very close to the Central Station, you can walk to the hotel.
The hotel staff were a definite advantage of Swissotel Amsterdam. People working there were extremely knowable, courteous and always ready to help. They do their best to cater to the hotel guests. I had made my reservation beforehand and sent an e-mail to the hotel two days prior to my arrival. There were no problems with checking in. (One tip: if you want to upgrade do it at the counter rather than on the website – you will save some money.)
My room looked exactly as it appeared on the website. It was nicely furnished. It was cosy and very clean. The room was excellently air conditioned and soundproof. Swissotel Amsterdam is considered to be a first class Amsterdam hotel, so it was equipped with appropriate facilities. The bathroom was very clean, but very modest in terms of size. However, the water pressure was excellent.
Swissotel Amsterdam has a small smart gym with excellent equipment and a business center.
Overall, Swissotel Amsterdam is a great value for money, excellent rooms, great location, and best staff. Highly recommended for staying when in Amsterdam.”
